Spring in Majorca

Almond trees blossom with delicate pink and white flowers in February on the Mediterranean island of Majorca, and the oranges are ready to be harvested. Explore the evergreen mountains and unspoilt villages on foot – and you will find: the untouched nature of Majorca is still very much alive.

One-week guided hiking week through the untouched nature of Majorca

Programme

Day 1:
Independent arrival at Palma de Mallorca and transfer to the Hapimag resort in Paguera. You’ll meet your hiking guide for a welcome cocktail at 6.30 p.m. and dinner afterwards.

Day 2:
In the morning, there will be a trip to Pollença in the north of the island. The lively weekly market there is a popular attraction. The next stop will be a trip to the Formentor peninsula, where we’ll go for a hike and enjoy a picnic on the way. From Mirador des Colomer, we’ll get a fabulous view of the cliffs and the peninsula. (Hiking time: approx. 2½ hours; +/- 200 m)

Day 3:
Today, we will visit a local perfume factory, where the well-known fragrance “flor d‘Atmetler” (almond blossoms) is produced. On the old dirt track from Palma to Esporles, we’ll come across a variety of very impressive fincas, which are all still in operation. On this hike, we will experience the traditional Majorcan landscape first-hand. The end point of the tour is the sleepy village of Esporles, where if the weather is fine we will enjoy a relaxing barbecue outdoors. (Hiking time approx. four hours; +/- 200 m)

Day 3:
In the south of Majorca, we will hike to three monasteries on the mountain Puig de Randa on the pilgrim trail and enjoy fantastic views. Afterwards, we will visit the nearby vineyard of Son Roig, where we will sample the finest organic wines and eat a delicious lunch. (Hiking time approx. 3 hours; +/- 300 m)

Day 5:
Free day to spend as you wish.

Day 6:
The day's hike will start out from Fornalutx, Majorca's most beautiful mountain village, and finish at Sóller. The valley of Sóller is an important citrus fruit-growing area, known particularly for its oranges. At a private finca, we will learn all about oranges and enjoy an authentic regional lunch with a view of the mountain landscape. On the drive back, we will stop off in Deià and Valldemossa. (Hiking time approx. 3 hours; +/- 300 m)

Day 7:
We will go on a delightful coastal hike in the municipality of Calvià. With the sea in constant view, we will walk along the rocky cliffs from cove to cove and in and out of little pine woods.
