Mas Nou – Golfers’ Paradise
“The winter months are the perfect time for a cultural break. Discover the Dali Triangle of Figueres, Portlligat and Pubol, and learn more about the life and work of Salvador Dali. Or you can see for yourself where the Greek and Roman worlds collided by visiting the ruins of Empúries – a unique legacy. The best way to let all you have seen sink in is by taking a walk along the Camino de Ronda coastal path from Platja d’Aro to St. Pol Revue. Tapas at the La Palmera restaurant right by the seafront is sure to give you all the energy you need to carry on exploring.”
The Mas Nou resort, with its typical regional architecture, is situated in the middle of the Club Golf d’Aro golf course on a plateau, not far from unique nature reserves and la Garrotxa volcanic landscape. Walks, cycling trips, swimming or an excursion to Barcelona ensure a diverse holiday. Children can play in the Mini & Maxi Club during the Easter and summer holidays.
Professional golf instructors are available in the Mas Nou resort upon request, be it for beginners or advanced players who want to improve their handicap. Walk a few steps to find the right club and tee off. Follow the golf ball, breathe in the fresh morning air and let your eyes linger over the view of the surrounding countryside. Take a change of scenery and explore the stunning nearby volcanic landscape along one of the numerous hiking trails or ride a bike through the medieval villages of the Costa Brava. An excursion to the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà nature reserve or the volcanic landscape of La Garrotxa is also amazing. A detour to the bustling city of Barcelona offers one cultural highlight after the other, such as the Picasso museum and the Sagrada Familia, one of the buildings designed by the world-famous architect Gaudí. Alternatively, visit the Dalí museum in Figueres. Back to the golfing paradise. The resort has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and an indoor swimming pool, which is closed during the months of July and August. The rustic apartments are divided into 16 buildings characteristic of the region and all have a balcony or terrace. In the evening, the Catalonian La Brasa restaurant serves traditional dishes from the Costa Brava. Grilled meat from Girona, fresh fish from the Mediterranean, but also typical dishes from the Empordà region, cooked and served in the traditional way, are on offer. For between meals, nice snacks, salads and finger food are available at the Pool Bar from May to September.
