Cefalù – Sea breeze and scent of citrus

“The ‘Festa della neve’ snow festival is not just celebrated in winter, but also in summer, on the third Sunday in July in Polizzi Generosa, in the Madonie Regional Nature Park. Groups walk to a gorge where there is still snow from the previous winter, which is then used to make granita – a famous Sicilian dessert that has a sorbet-like consistency.”

Roberto Fratichini, Resort Manager Cefalù

On the north coast of Sicily, a gem awaits you: Cefalù. The resort is located directly by a sandy beach surrounded by greenery in the middle of a citrus fruit plantation. Discover the picturesque old town and the ambience of the old port. Explore excavations of ancient Roman and Greek sites in the vicinity. But above all: Let yourself be seduced by the sun, sea and pure Italianità.

Sicily is more than a part of Italy. This can be seen in the historic fishing town of Cefalù. Here you can experience holidays full of tradition, culture and hospitality. Stroll through the narrow alleyways of the old town. Visit the 700-year-old cathedral that dominates the Piazza del Duomo. Climb up the 270-metre-high limestone rock La Rocca towering over the town. The 137 holiday apartments are located a little outside the town, and are spread over several typical southern buildings. Relax on the sandy beach, play some tennis, swim in the deep-blue water, or laze around the pool. Go on excursions to discover the mountainous hinterland with its small villages where time seems to stand still. Well preserved temple ruins in Agrigento and 1600-year-old mosaics in a luxury villa in Piazza Armerina will give you an impression of life in ancient times. Do you want to go up high? A day-trip will take you and your family to the highest active volcano in Europe, Mount Etna. You can explore the 3300-metre-high mountain by cable car or, if you have time, on a hike. In the evening you can enjoy the rich selection of classic regional and Italian cuisine in the Trattoria at the resort in Cefalù: Pizza napolitana, spaghetti vongole, tagliata di manzo, risotto ai funghi and the various dolci.
