Binz – White sand, white cliffs

“Autumn is the perfect time to explore the neighbouring car-free island of Hiddensee. Immerse yourself in untouched nature on a horse-drawn carriage ride, visit the art galleries in the village monastery and enjoy the island’s famous fish soup. My personal recommendation is the restaurant Zum Enddorn in Grieben. On the way back, it is also worth stopping off on the island of Ummanz. At dusk, thousands of cranes fly through the air in spectacular formations to reach their resting spot in the knee-deep water near Tankow.”

Burkhard Herzberg, Resort Manager Binz

Welcome to the holiday paradise of Binz, the most popular Baltic Sea resort on the island of Rügen. The wonderful resort architecture of the 19th century with its white balconies is still ever present here. The resort is located on a bathing bay and invites you to enjoy relaxing wellness and beach walks. A Mini & Maxi Club awaits younger guests in the summer.

Strolling along the promenade has forever been part and parcel of the idyllic life on Germany's largest and most impressive island. The Binz resort is located on Rügen's most beautiful bathing bay, Prorer Wiek, and offers a view of the lively port town of Sassnitz and the green treetops of the Granitz Forest, which is part of the south-east Rügen biosphere reserve. The romantic atmosphere of the seaside resort is further underlined by the impressive chalk cliffs, which rise up behind the many kilometres of white sandy beach. Time to take a break in a wicker beach chair to enjoy a bread roll with fish at your leisure and with an idyllic view. The many white villas in the typical resort-style architecture bear testament to times gone by, with their towers, oriel windows, pediments and balconies decorated with intricate wood carvings. An excursion to the biosphere reserve in south-east Rügen takes you to the classical hunting lodge of Granitz. From the central tower, you can gaze out over the entire island. Another fine discovery is the captivating landscape of the Mönchgut peninsula with its sleepy fishing villages and long beaches with fine sand. Then the flora: In the spring, the abundance of anemone flowers in Jasmund National Park forms a brilliant carpet of white and green, while the blossoming rapeseed fields brighten up the surrounding area with their intense yellow hue. You can also revitalise yourself with natural energy in the luxurious wellness area, with natural products from the region such as Rügen medicinal chalk and sea buckthorn. Also at your disposal are an indoor pool with waterfall, saunas, experience showers, a relaxation room, as well as beauty treatment and massage rooms. Only the best ingredients reach the tables at the in-house restaurant, particularly fresh fish from the Baltic Sea and sea buckthorn specialities. The holiday apartments at the seaside resort of Binz are spread out across five buildings and all have their own balcony or terrace.
