Berlin Zoo – A step into the wild

“Enjoy the magical side of winter and try a bit of curling at the Café am Neuen See. Music, fresh mulled wine and decorative lights ensure a unique atmosphere. For more winter fun, go ice skating on the rink at the Neptune Fountain, ice swimming in Orankesee lake or cross-country skiing in the Britzer Garden.”

Baskın Ercün, Resort Manager Berlin Zoo

Berlin is like an open history book. The city has been reinvented since the fall of the wall and is considered the trendiest city in Europe. Nevertheless, the contrasts between the modern day and nostalgia for the former East Germany have been deliberately maintained. The Hapimag Resort is close to Bahnhof Zoo station in the heart of Berlin, not far from the Kurfürstendamm, Reichstag and Gedächtniskirche church.

A visit to the legendary Reichstag is an essential part of any holiday in Berlin. All the way up in the dome, high above the chamber of the German parliament, the Käfer restaurant not only offers excellent food but also a unique view over the city all the way to the 147-metre high Funkturm (radio tower). We recommend booking in advance. Berlin is a trendy city with excellent shopping quarters, fashion boutiques, restaurants and nightclubs. The range of cultural attractions is as diverse as the city itself. Historic buildings and museums – even beyond the Museum Island – bear testament to Berlin as an important place in world history. Located in the west, the Berlin Zoo resort is ideally positioned to explore the city and is close to Kurfürstendamm, the main tourist shopping area. Build up strength for your shopping expedition in the legendary delicatessen department of "KaDeWe" – the largest department store in Germany. For children, the Berlin zoo itself is an outstanding experience and has been attracting people of all generations since 1844. Climb the 285 steps to the viewing platform on the victory column and enjoy the view out over the zoo and urban sprawl. Countless galleries, museums and theatres await you with their varied attractions, including lesser-known establishments such as the Newton Museum with its unique collection of photographs or the Käthe Kollwitz Museum. Reminders of the past accompany the holiday guest all the way on their journey along the remains of the wall to Checkpoint Charlie. This is Berlin, Europe's metropolis, which has been reinventing itself since 1989 and promises unforgettable holidays.
