A personal message from our Resort Manager
When the sun is shining, you see the boats rocking near the shore and you stroll comfortably along the beach, you nearly forget the current situation. Edinburgh looks very strange now, the streets are very quiet and the shops are still closed. It's hard to believe that only a few weeks ago we saw reports of a new epidemic spreading in Wuhan-China without knowing that the same virus would spread in Edinburgh and the world.
Fast forward to today, we are living in a full-blown, socially distanced lockdown. It seems to us that only yesterday we were speculating whether the virus would affect Scotland too, and now most of us can only leave our homes for sport or essential things.
We are still optimistic about the future. Some shops are starting to open again and the weather is fantastic. Summer is just around the corner and the challenges we face are surmountable and can be overcome.
Our resort has been empty since the end of March, and since we have closed our doors, we have already started to plan the reopening in order to offer you a pleasant and safe stay. We miss you here.
We hope that you and your family are well and safe and I hope to see you back in Edinburgh.
Max Heidrich & Hapimag Resort Edinburgh Team
Important information about our resort offer
We are very grateful to you and are pleased to be able to welcome you despite the current situation. Due to various regional measures to contain the Corona pandemic, our resort services are temporarily limited:
The opening hours of the reception are reduced and the offer at the Honesty Shop & Bar has been adapted.
Thank you for your understanding. Naturally, our Resort Manager and the team will do everything on site to make your stay as pleasant as possible. For further information, the employees at the resort will be happy to assist you.
Essential repair work on roof and facade
The building structure of our resort in Edinburgh is already over 100 years old. An inspection has shown that the roof, chimneys and facades need urgent repairs to prevent potential water ingress into the building, to stop progressive weather damage and to preserve the fabric of the building. For this reason, work will be carried out on the roof and facade from February to November 2020. During this time, only part of the building will be surrounded by scaffolding at any one time and there may be some noise and restricted views. The apartments and the infrastructure of the resort will be available for you to use as normal. Resort Operations Manager Maximiliano Heidrich and his team will of course do all they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. For further information, our staff in Edinburgh and their Service Line colleagues will be happy to help you.
