At your resorts in the Alps, the foothills and the low-mountain region, you will experience sheer fun in the snow. Away from the pistes you will find your own paradise too: fancy experiencing your winter idyll in the shape of a horse-drawn sleigh ride, a winter walk or would you prefer a thrilling toboggan ride?

 

Ski run distances (in km)

You'll find extensive ski runs in Austria, especially. Bad Gastein (200 km), Saalbach (200 km) and St. Michael (230 km) are among the longer runs. But even in Flims (220 km), Interlaken (200 km) or Sonnleitn (100 km) as well, it'll be a while before you get back to the ski lift.

Cross-country skiing trails/cross-country skiing

At the Swiss Hapimag winter resorts, the cross-country skiing trails vary between 20 and 60km. In Winterberg (DE), St. Michael (AT) and Zell am See (AT) they are even 200 km or longer. In Unterkirnach (DE), Punkaharju (FI) and Zell am See (AT) you can start your cross-country skiing directly in front of the resort.

Ski / Carve / Snowboard

In Kanzelhöhe (AT) and Sonnleitn (AT) you can enjoy skiing, carving and snowboarding on location. Most ski slopes  are no more than 3km from the resort: Flims (CH), Saalbach (AT) and Bad Kleinkirchheim (AT) all approx. 0.5km,  Braunlage (DE) and Winterberg (DE) both approx. 1km, Unterkirnach, Interlaken (CH), Chamonix (FR), Bad Gastein (AT) and Zell am See (AT) all approx.  3km.

Learn the correct moves in a ski or snowboard school close to the resort.: Kanzelhöhe (AT) and Sonnleitn (AT) directly on the spot, Bad Kleinkirchheim (AT), Saalbach (AT), Unterkirnach (AT) and Flims (CH) just 0.5 km away or 1 km away from Braunlage (DE), Winterberg (DE) and Sörenberg (CH).

Ski and snowboard tuition, rentals and ski pass sales at the resort

Book your ski and snowboard tuition directly at the resorts of Braunlage (DE), Chamonix (FR), St. Michael (AT), Zell am See (AT) and Interlaken (CH). In Chamonix (FR), you can reserve your ski pass in the resort to avoid waiting in long queues. In Bad Gastein (AT), Sonnleitn (AT), St. Michael (AT) and Interlaken (CH), you purchase your ski pass immediately on arrival. In Zell am See (AT) and Interlaken (CH), you can also hire skis and snowboards while acquiring the ski pass.

Guided skiing and ski tours

Go up the mountains near the resorts of Bad Gastein (AT), Sonnleitn (AT), Saalbach (AT) or St. Michael (AT) and enjoy natural landscapes and encounters with animals. Also in Chamonix (FR), Bad Kleinkirchheim (AT) and Flims (CH), skiing tours are offered not far from the resorts (0.4km to 1km).

Snow shoe tours

This trendy, modern form of sport has existed since the Stone Age of the hunters and gatherers. You can start wading through snow on the spot at most resorts: these include Winterberg (DE), Punkaharju (FI), Chamonix (FR) or Bad Gastein (AT).

Winter walks (some guided)

Wading through the snow and enjoying the winter idyll is possible from all out Austrian resorts. Flims (CH), Interlaken (CH), Sörenberg (CH), Unterkirnach (DE) or Winterberg (DE) are also ideal for this activity. Walks in Braunlage (DE), Chamonix (FR) and Andeer (CH) are between 0.3 km and 13 km.

Ice-skating

If your heart is set on ice-skating, you can perform your pirouettes on the frozen lake in Punkaharju (FI). But also in Chamonix (FR), and in various resorts in Austria and Switzerland, you can go skating on the ice.

Sledging and tobogganing

Enjoy yourself in one of the winter sports resorts with sledging or tobogganing. In Kanzelhöhe and Sonnleitn (AT), the tracks are right beside the resorts, all others are within a distance of 15km. In Sörenberg (CH) you can go sledging down to the valley by night, and also in Flims (CH) exciting toboggan runs are possible at night.
