The company was founded in 1963 as a Swiss public limited company based in Baar in the Canton of Zug and today has over 139 000 members. With the purchase of shares, 57 holiday resorts (3 of which are houseboat home ports) with more than 5,400 apartments and hotel rooms, in accordance with the points system, can be used rent-free. The resorts are located in 18 European countries, Africa and the USA. The company has around 1700 employees worldwide; it generates an annual sales revenue of around CHF 246 million.
