Even the Latin name "Interlacus" bears witness to the location "between lakes". The lakes in question are Lake Thun and Lake Brienz at the foot of the big three mountains - Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Steep gorges, roaring waterfalls, lovely alpine meadows and famous mountain villages such as Grindelwald or Wengen: nowhere else can you experience the mountains so close, so spectacular and yet so easily accessible as here in the Bernese Oberland. The north face of the Eiger and the Aletsch Glacier are well worth visiting. These are the reasons why Interlaken is so popular among visitors from every country: take an excursion to the Jungfraujoch with the highest railway station in Europe or visit castles and museums. In winter skiers can enjoy fantastic descents in the huge skiing area in the Jungfrau region (200 kilometres of pistes). As you can see, visitors are spoilt for choice. After an eventful day you can simply relax in the resort's indoor pool, treat yourself to a wellness treatment or enjoy culinary treats in our restaurant.
