South Africa – Cape Town and the Cape region
Cape Town is a true melting pot of cultures. This is reflected, for example, in the stylish architecture. Cape Town is generally regarded as the cultural centre of South Africa and is home to numerous artists. This is also the reason why there are so many art galleries, museums, theatres and street artists in Cape Town.
With its unique location at the geographical southern tip of the African continent, the Cape Point Nature Reserve contains a wide range of vegetation which is found nowhere else in the world. Table Mountain alone is home to over 1470 species of plant. The summit of the mountain is reached by cable car in a revolving gondola. This unusual means of transport provides a truly wonderful view of Cape Town and the bay. Picturesque vineyards stretch out against the breathtaking backdrop of a rugged mountain landscape. Most of the wine estates in this region are also open to the general public and offer excellent cuisine and wine tastings for visitors.
