" Ferries

We recommend the Finnlines ferry, which operates between Travemünde (DE) and Helsinki (FI). One alternative is the Superfast Ferries service from Rostock (DE) to Helsinki (FI). As a further alternative there are the routes via Sweden from Travemünde (DE) to Trelleborg (SE). Or else the route from Puttgarden (DE) to Rødby (DK), from Helsingør (DK) to Helsingborg (SE) and from Stockholm (SE) to Helsinki or Turku (FI). " Car

Helsinki (road number 7/6)-Kouvola-Lappeenranta-Imatra-Parikkala-Särkisalmi towards Savonlinna (road number 14) as far as Punkaharju. At the petrol station (Shell) turn right and follow road number 479 towards Kesälahti. After about 8 km, turn left and follow the Hapimag signs.

Alternative: Helsinki-Lahti (road number 4/5)-Mikkeli-Juva-Savonlinna (road number 14) towards Lappeenranta as far as Punkaharju. At the petrol station (Shell) turn left and follow road number 479 towards Kesälahti. After about 8 km, turn left and follow the Hapimag signs.

" Flight

From Joensuu Airport (approx. 130 km)
Follow road 501, continue towards Joensuu (road number 17) and then towards Lappeenranta (road number 6). After Kesälahti, turn right towards Punkaharju and follow road number 479. After about 15 km, turn right and follow the Hapimag signs.

From Helsinki Airport (approx. 350 km)
In a hire car or by train. From Savonlinna Airport (approx. 45 km) in a hire car or by taxi. Please inform the resort when and where you will be arriving so that a taxi can be ordered for you.

From Tampere Airport (approx. 410 km)
Tampere-Lahti-Kouvola-Lappeenranta-Imatra-Parikkala-Särkisalmi towards Savonlinna as far as Punkaharju. At the petrol station (Shell) turn left and follow road number 479 towards Kesälahti. After about 8 km, turn left and follow the Hapimag signs. 

From Lappeenranta Airport (approx. 140 km)
Lappeenranta (road number 6)-Imatra-Parikkala-Särkisalmi towards Savonlinna (road number 14) as far as Punkaharju. At the petrol station (Shell) turn left and follow road number 479 towards Kesälahti. After about 8 km, turn left and follow the Hapimag signs.

" Rail

Train to Helsinki-Parikkala (5 min. changeover)-Punkaharju (journey time about 4 hours). From Punkaharju village centre by taxi (about 10 minutes' drive). Please inform the resort when and where you will be arriving so that a taxi can be ordered for you. www.vr.fi

• New in the resort: Kota Grillhaus.
• Please note that there are no shopping facilities in the Hapimag resort. A mobile food shop comes to the resort once a week. Shopping facilities are available in Punkaharju on Saturday up to 18.00 and on Sunday from 12.00 to 18.00. The shops are closed on public holidays and on Midsummer's Day. Shopping facilities are provided at petrol station shops.
• For excursions to Russia visas are required. The visa must be obtained at least 4 weeks before travelling from the Embassy or from a travel agency. During the summer season 2010 (14 May to 11 September) ship excursions (for 1 to 3 days) via Saimaa Canal to Wyborg and St. Petersburg are offered without visa requirements. A passport which is valid for at least 6 months after the date of return is required. These trips can be booked in advance by writing directly to the resort in Punkaharju punkaharju@hapimag.com
