Prague – Travelling through time

Here we are right in the thick of things. We can book a city tour at reception to get an initial overview of the city. We will discover Prague on our own later on.

The historic old town is minutes from our address on foot or on the underground train. Bohemian roast pork will keep us going for our imminent shopping and exploring excursions. We breathe in the history while out walking and are taken back to the past times of the former imperial city, past St. Veit's Cathedral, the town hall and the Teyn Church. Looking out from Hradčany, we have a splendid view of the historic metropolis. We stroll over historic bridges and past small shops, where we discover antique treasures. We can enjoy Prague from its most beautiful side on a boat trip on the Vltava. We usher in an evening of unique ambience in bars that were once old cellar vaults, reflect on the many sights we have seen over a drink and look forward to a long night – we can party until morning in one of the trendy clubs.

We can experience contemporary art in former industrial buildings in the Karlin or Smichov neighbourhoods. We follow Franz Kafka's footsteps in the Josef's Town district and visit the house where he was born. The Jewish Museum explains the history of this city precinct and Prague's surrounding areas offer interesting expedition options. About 40 km outside of the city, we can travel back to the middle ages and visit the Karlstein or Konopiste castles. We can enjoy classical sounds at the International Music Festival Prague Spring every year from mid-May until the beginning of June. The festival attracts international artists, world premieres and contemporary composers – a must for music lovers!
