Interlaken – For top sporting performances
We set off on the one-hour journey to the capital Bern at the heart of Swiss democracy, visit the Bear Pit, the Zytglogge clock tower, the art museum, the Paul Klee Centre or sit quietly in a café and watch parliamentarians rush past on their way to parliament. Once the Bernese Oberland winter has set in, we make use of the three huge ski resorts in the direct vicinity. We launch ourselves daringly down the Lauberhorn downhill ski run and master the Hundschopf, Brüggli-S and Haneggschuss sections. We treat ourselves to culinary delights such as Bernese fried potato cake (Rösti) or a creamy fondue and enjoy a Lucerne coffee before retiring to bed. After all, it won't be long before the Jungfrau is bathed in subtle red morning sunshine once more.
