Hapimag in Germany
Hapimag offers an apprenticeship with diverse opportunities for flexible young individuals who are outgoing and versatile and who are looking for a change and want to be creative. Prerequisites for getting started in gastronomy are good manners, a well-groomed appearance and, naturally enough, motivation, among other things.
Hapimag members get exclusive access to a selection of 57 addresses where they can spend a short or longer break from their various lifestyles and which are certainly worth a return visit. The company is based in Baar, Switzerland, and was founded in 1963. It has resorts in 16 countries including Europe, Morocco, and the USA. Hapimag has 13 addresses throughout Germany.

Hotel specialist
Hotel specialists work in all areas of a Hapimag address, be it at the reception, in a restaurant, in the kitchen or in housekeeping. The diversity of the job requires a good knowledge of human nature and an ability to work in a team. A well-groomed appearance and a polite manner are a must.
The period of training is 3 years in the dual system and can be shortened to 2 1/2 years by completing the Abitur (school leaving certificate) or by performing exceptionally well.

Restaurant specialist
During their three year training period, waiters serve and look after guests in the restaurant, the buffet area and in the bar. They make sure that there is an appropriate ambience, serve meals and drinks, prepare the bills and take the cash.
They are responsible for the guests' welfare and must ensure that there is a pleasant atmosphere for guests and that everything runs smoothly.

Chef
Training to become a chef generally lasts three years and includes tasks such as cooking and presenting food, organising purchasing, creating menus, and so on. It is therefore important for applicants to have a great sense of taste and creativity, as well as a sound knowledge of mathematics and a talent for organisation.

Sport and fitness specialists
Sport and fitness specialists take on administrative and organisational tasks, organise sporting events and excursions, and take care of guests at the resorts. This means that it is particularly important that people in this job enjoy contact with others.
The dual-system training course lasts three years and is currently only offered at the Hapimag Binz resort.

Hotel manager
Hotel managers coordinate accommodation, the restaurant, kitchen, stores, and administrative tasks. They may have to work in any of these areas at any point. However, their main activities are organisation, purchasing, and bookkeeping.
A well-developed ability to communicate and great social skills are required in order to succeed. Normal training in the dual system takes three years. This type of training is currently only available at the Hapimag Binz resort.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), major in tourism (Berufsakademie)
The dual-study courses at a Berufsakademie (vocational college) offer young people the opportunity to combine the advantages of practical training with academic study. Hapimag Germany works with the Wirtschaftsakademie (business college) Schleswig-Holstein, which offers the Bachelor course of study in business economics, with a major in tourism. The Berufsakademie Ravensburg also offers the Bachelor course of study in tourism – hotel and restaurant management. The theoretical foundations of the course are taught in Lübeck or Ravensburg, whilst Hapimag deals with the practical aspect.
Tuition fees are borne by the students themselves. The duration of the study is 3 years with a relatively regular rotation of study and practical work. For more information, see:
