Flims – Local delicacies at heady heights

The reception provides us with a map indicating all the signposted hiking trails that we can explore within the region. We decide to set off on the Culinary trail. After a prelude in Falera with a glass of prosecco, we walk a few kilometres to a rustic mountain retreat and indulge in a selection of starters. The panoramic trail leads us to Stargels, where we can polish off our main course. If we prefer a little more activity, we can take the historical Pinut fixed rope route. Equipped with a safety harness, we climb up the metal ladders on the rock face and test to see whether we really have a fear of heights. We are rewarded with an imposing view.

  • Excursions

    • Guided tours of Flims with a local person
    • Guided hikes through the mountainous world of Flims
    • Carriage ride through the enchanted fairytale forest of Flims
    • Organised excursions to the Via Mala and Roffla Gorge
    • Individual excursions with the Glacier or Bernina Express
    • Flims is located in the Grisons Highlands (in the Surselva), where for the most part Romansh is still spoken. On the Romansh culture trail between Falera and Laax, you can discover the Rhaeto-Romanic culture and language for yourself.
  • Nature

With the motto "hiking and natural wonders", the Resort Manager will present the various possibilities for trips in the region. Flims is regarded as the largest landslide area of the Alps and therefore offers numerous natural wonders:

    • Lake Cauma and Lake Cresta
    • Rheinschlucht, also known as the "Swiss Grand Canyon"
    • Flims enchanted fairytale forest
    • Flimserstein and Pinut fixed rope route
    • High-lying Bargis valley
    • Conn observation deck

From July 2008 a UNESCO world heritage site can be admired in the Flims region: The Glarus thrust with the mountain cliff called Tschingelhörner and the Martinsloch natural hole has been officially listed on the prestigious list.

  • Culinary activities

On an evening in Grisons enjoy typical regional dishes such as capuns (chard leaf parcels) or pizokel (Grisons spätzle). You can also expect varied themed evenings in the Hapimag restaurant "Bündner Stube", e.g. with raclette à discrétion, fondue or tasty cordon bleu and various types of schnitzels.
