The stately surroundings, the lavish castle and the romantic parks guarantee privacy and undisturbed moments. You will also find plenty to do - discover medieval architecture such as the abbey in Saint Savin with its impressive murals from the 11th and 12th centuries or visit the house of George Sand in Nohant. Or indulge in some French haute cuisine and embark on a journey through the wine cellars of the region discovering wine and wine-making. Listen to the Gregorian chants of the Benedictine monks in the Abbey of Fontgombault and visit the Manoir de Villedoin, where you can admire the works of contemporary artists such as Paul Collomb and Paul Ambille.
Wellness in the castle
The château has been renovated in a tasteful fashion and offers contemporary comfort in the 21 castle rooms and two apartments in the Orangerie. Some of the facilities include a chapel, viewing tower, outdoor pool, wellness area and the castle park.
Please note that the French government has decided to increase VAT from 5.5% to 7% on 01 January 2012. We are therefore obliged to adjust the local charges and charges for additional services for stays at the Château de Chabenet accordingly. Thank you for your understanding.
