Cefalù – Traces of early conquerors

We can embark on excursions to caves, historical archaeological excavations or ancient temples, theatres and palaces. Palermo (67 km) is also well worth a visit. Here we can visit a wide range of different ethnic markets. If we have the time, we should seriously consider a trip to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. We can see the volcano from a cable car during a day trip. If we have more time to spare, we can even explore the volcano on foot and stay there overnight in a mountain hut.
