From Manchester Airport travel by car or train (there are direct train connections to Windermere and Oxenholme). 

» Car

Getting there from the north or south:
Exit the M6 at junction 36. At the roundabout take the exit for the A590 and follow the signposts towards Kendal/Barrow (A591) for 5.4 km (3.4 miles). Then continue along the A591 (following the signposts for Windermere) for around 8.4 km (5.2 miles). At the roundabout take the first exit onto the B5284 (signposted Hawkeshead via Ferry) and then follow Crook Road for 10.1 km (6.3 miles). Turn right onto the A5074 (Kendal Road). Follow the signs for Bowness/Windermere), remaining on this road for 1 km (0.6 miles). The entrance to the Burnside Hotel resort is on the left-hand side. Then turn immediately right to reach the reception.

From London Euston take the West Coast Main Line to Windermere via Oxenholme with Virgin Trains.
