Restaurant Achterdeck – Themed evenings and speciality weeks

In a modern Baltic atmosphere, both regional and Mediterranean delicacies are on offer. In the evening, there is a culinary journey with seasonal themes, to which we recommend our wine specialities.

Highlights and themed evenings

Typical Rügen menu
(Tuesdays, but not every week)

Rügen fish soup
Steamed Baltic cod on a bed of vegetables, with herb potatoes
Home-made buckthorn sorbet with red fruit jelly

In addition, our Leisure Consultant, Hartmut Netschas, presents an amusing culinary and literary journey through Rügen.

Störtebeker evening
(Mondays) 

On this evening, our pirates on board the Achterdeck serve two fish variations:

  • "Störtebeker's silver": Matjes (pickled herring) variations with roast potatoes and herb quark
  • "Störtebeker platter": Fried pikeperch, steamed salmon and steamed gunnel, served with tasty roast potatoes, market vegetables and a buckthorn horseradish sauce.

Grilled fish evening
(September to May on Thursdays,
June to mid-September am Saturdays and Sundays) 
  • Grilled fish platter with grilled halibut and gunnel, served with oven potatoes and herb quark, plus a side salad
  • Chicken platter with roast chicken breast, served with buckthorn chutney, an oven potato and side salad

Barbecue
(Thursdays, from June to mid-September) 
  • The barbecue will include neck steaks, three different sorts of Mecklenburg sausages and chicken breast fillet.
  • There will also be grilled potatoes and various fresh salads from the buffet.
  • À la carte meals will not be on offer.
Schnitzel evening
(alternating themed evening *)

On the schnitzel evening, guests can compose their favourite dish themselves, choosing from:

1. Meat:

  • Vienna pork schnitzel or
  • Original Vienna schnitzel: veal

2. Side dishes:

  • Chips
  • Potato salad of the house: with vinegar, oil and gherkins

3. Vegetables:

  • Mushrooms
  • Fried onions
  • Ratatouille
Plenty of noodles
(alternating themed evening *)

Help yourself to our noodle buffet and compose your individual pasta dish. You can choose from: Spaghetti and macaroni, Bolognese vegetables, Bolognese beef, carbonara and arrabiata tomato sauce.

Baltic evening
(alternating themed evening *)

The Baltic evening is a new themed evening still being planned. It will probably be introduced in Mid-November. On this evening, typical dishes from various Baltic countries will be on offer. E.g. typical Danish, Russian, Polish or Norwegian dishes. It is also planned to have our serving staff dressed as sailors.

 * These themed evenings take place alternately on Tuesdays.

In addition, we offer two special fish meals of the day (mostly alternating on Fridays)

  • Pikeperch with Rügen Camembert au gratin, served with tasty roast potatoes.
  • Fried fillet of salmon on beetroot cabbage, served with dill potatoes
