Albufeira – Discover fado

A trip to Faro (45 km) is recommended. The historic centre is surrounded by walls built in Roman times and the Nosso Senhora de Carmo church boasts spectacular gilded woodwork. In Loulé (25 km), we experience the colourful hustle and bustle of the Arabic market hall. We discover the ancient Arabic world in Paderne castle (15 km) or Silves castle (25 km). We admire traditional Portuguese handicrafts such as the 17 000 blue and white tiles that adorn the church of Almancil (30 km). Cape St. Vincent (70 km) is the southwesternmost point on the continent. The 70 m high rock plateau offers spectacular views of the Algarve and Atlantic coastline.
